Ever since my stroke nearly 6 years ago, at the age of 72, left me completely paralyzed on the right side, I have been struggling to regain my functions. I've had years of physical therapy and acupuncture but was still unable to sleep or regain full sensation and use of my right side.

I tried Thai Massage in September and found it very relaxing. During my second session I had lots of spasms on my right side. In the third session the spasms and release were much bigger. I went home and slept 17 hours with a short break for dinner. After that I slept through the night every night for over a month - for the first time in almost 6 years! 

When I didn't have sessions for a while my insomnia came back in December. I just had another session with Sky last week. Now I can change positions IN my sleep, enabling me to sleep 7 hours at a stretch, every night so far. Only a confirmed insomniac like me - used to sleeping in 90 minute stretches following by 2 or 3 hours awake - can appreciate the LUXURY of sleeping that long. Thai Massage has been a minor miracle for me.

I had gained back some movement and use of my right side but haven't been able to use my right hand fully or even feel my right side. During my third session I was able to feel my right leg for the first time! After my fourth session I am able to open and close my right hand fully. 

Hey, speaking of minor miracles, I just took a shower and washed my hair, and what do you know, I could feel the right side of my head!!  Do you know this is the first time I felt myself scratching!!!  Hallelujah!! When my head itches, I can scratch it now!!! and I felt "cold" under my right armpit when I put on my deodorant... "minor miracles" continue!!

The massage room overlooks the garden and the choice of music supports this style of bodywork. This is not a ‘space out’ relaxing massage. I want to share information about a wonderful Thai Massage Therapist - Sky Yeager. I  had an incredible two hour session with Sky yesterday. I had a major constriction (my words) on my right side - after lots of intuitive, gentle manipulation I am totally back to normal today. 

For those of you unfamiliar with Thai massage it's done on the floor on padding, you are fully clothed and the therapist uses various stretching techniques - it's often referred to as passive yoga. 

Sky, you are a miracle worker!

Sky is definitely my favorite person to receive Thai Massage from. He is wonderfully intuitive and is gifted at sensing into what the receiver is experiencing and needing. This sensitivity makes it possible for Sky to work very deeply without it being painful at all. He is gentle but firm. This way he is able to get into areas that long to be worked but usually own't let a practitioner in. After receiving a massage from Sky I feel that I have been touched, both physically and emotionally, on levels that I did not even know could be reached. Sky loves Thai Massage and his focus and presence allow him to take me to deeper states of relaxation and openness, so that I can receive on levels that I am not generally accustomed. I also appreciate Sky's creativity and playfulness. If you have an opportunity to receive a Thai Massage from Sky, don't pass it up!
